The human body relies on adenosine triphosphate (ATP) as an energy source. ATP is produced in the cellular power plants—the mitochondria. In many metabolic processes, dietary calories (or stored fats) are converted into ATP in the mitochondria. A wide variety of nutrients (e.g. B vitamins, zinc, magnesium, copper, manganese, chromium) and metabolic metabolites (e.g. L-carnitine, alpha-lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10, alpha-ketoglutarate) are involved in this energy production cascade.

The mitochondria should also be optimally protected against the stress caused by oxidative radicals, which can be produced during energy generation. The body uses a complex antioxidant defense system made up of substances such as alpha-lipoic acid, selenium, zinc, copper, manganese, and vitamins A, C and E.

Unless otherwise prescribed, dissolve one measuring spoon in ¼ liter of water and drink once daily (in the morning or at midday).
