BIA stands for bioelectrical impedance analysis and is a painless, non-invasive procedure in which a weak, imperceptible current is passed through the body.

Since water, muscles, and fat conduct electricity differently, the device can calculate body composition during the measurement.

Fat mass, visceral fat, muscle, water, and basal metabolic rate

In addition to fat, water, and muscle mass, the measurement also determines basal metabolic rate, total calorie expenditure, and the phase angle, which provides insights into cell health and nutritional status.

Benefits for all ages, body types, and stages of life

BIA measurement is a real game changer not only for athletes or people who are overweight, as it provides insights into fitness levels or fat loss even when weight does not change, but also for older people, for example, to determine whether they are adequately hydrated or whether their muscle loss is progressing rapidly.

Progress monitoring

BIA measurement is most useful when tracked over time. Individual measurements are snapshots; only comparing several measurements over a period of a few months reveals real changes. Is muscle mass increasing or decreasing? How is the fat percentage changing?

This makes it possible to see whether the measures taken to bring about changes are actually working.

Costs:

€ 46,– measurement and interpretation
€ 26,– measurement only

As part of the promotion, you can choose whether to have three measurements only or three measurements with a professional interpretation of your results. The final appointment is free in either case!

Preparing for the BIA measurement:

24 hours before the measurement:

  • No sauna visits,
  • no alcoholic beverages,
  • no intense training.

On the day of the measurement:

  • Avoid exercise (as muscle fatigue/soreness can
    affect the results).
  • Do not consume caffeinated or
  • alcoholic beverages.

4 hours before the measurement

  • Do not eat,
  • drink no more than 0.5 liters.
  • Keep skin clean and dry – no lotions, creams, or oils
on the skin, especially on hands and feet.
  • Remove excessive hair from hands and feet (so the electrodes adhere).

Immediately before the measurement

  • Please do not wear tights, as your feet must be accessible
  • Remove jewelry.
  • Empty your bladder before the measurement.

Metal implants or prostheses

Large metal implants can affect the measurement; please inform the specialist.

Contraindications:

  • People with pacemakers, defibrillators, or other implanted electronic devices – electrical currents could interfere with their operation.
  • Pregnant women
