Homeopathy: Gentle support for body and mind
The basic idea of homeopathy is: „Like cures like“ – in Latin: Similia similibus curentur. Put simply, a substance that causes certain symptoms can, in diluted form, relieve those very symptoms. For example, onion is used for hay fever, or coffee for insomnia.
How it all began
The origins of homeopathy date back to Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755–1843). While translating a medical textbook, he came across the claim that cinchona bark helps against intermittent fever. Curious, he conducted a self-experiment and took cinchona bark – even though he was healthy. He then developed typical symptoms of intermittent fever. Hahnemann was certain: the healing power of cinchona bark lies in its ability to cause symptoms similar to those of the disease itself. This observation laid the foundation for the homeopathic healing method.
Chronic complaints require expert care
One of the central principles of homeopathy is to find, from among thousands of remedies, the one that most closely matches a person's condition. For chronic illnesses in particular, it is therefore advisable to consult an experienced homeopath. In Austria, these are specially trained doctors. During a detailed initial consultation, not only current complaints are discussed, but also personal circumstances, previous illnesses, character traits, and individual likes and dislikes – all of which help in selecting the right remedy.
Quick relief for acute complaints
For acute illnesses, choosing the right remedy is usually more straightforward. In such cases, our trained staff are available to help. A homeopathic medicine cabinet is especially practical for colds or minor injuries.
