Alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG) is a biological compound with numerous functions in the human body. It is an important player in our cells, more precisely in the mitochondria—the cellular power plants. There, AKG “works” in the so-called citric acid cycle, which ensures efficient energy production.

AKG is also involved in nitrogen breakdown and is part of the body's antioxidant defence system.

The following key active ingredients are contained in one daily dose of Metabolicum® AKG 300 mg Capsules:

Unless otherwise prescribed, take 1 capsule with liquid before breakfast.
